We are excited to announce that Artyom Pykhachov, our danseur and tutor, has received the highly prestigious title of Honoured Culture Worker of St. Petersburg.

The list of people that had been granted distinguished titles by the city government was revealed by Governor Alexander Beglov at his Smolny residence just before Theatre Day. Artyom Pykhachov was among them.

From 18 to 28 February, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will embark on a grand tour to the Mariinsky Theatre’s Primorsky venue in Vladivostok, arranged by the ROSCONCERT federal touring and concert centre in line with the nationwide theatre tour plan proposed by the Russian Ministry of Culture.

The theatre community was following the Russian Theatre Workers’ Union Secretariat January 22 meeting with baited breath. The Secretariat was reviewing the long list of the Golden Mask National Award nominees for the 2023/24 theatre season. The nominee recommendations, submitted by the Award’s Expert Council, have now been officially approved.

The very first Golden Soffit award ceremony celebrated the most significant achievements in the art of theatre all the way back in the 90s. And ever since then, the distinguished judges have been selecting new nominees every year. Yesterday’s ceremony was the 30th, making the much sought-after Golden Soffit statuette all the more prestigious.
