At 3 PM on 25 March, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will rehearse for The Queen of Spades ballet at its practice hall, streaming the process for the press and guests via ZOOM. The production's choreographer Iñaki Urlezaga will be joining the conference call from Argentina. This rehearsal is much needed, since a new iteration of the ballet (which premièred with great success in December 2019) will be returning to the Alexandrinsky Theatre on 29 and 30 March. After being forced into a hiatus by the COVID-19 lockdown and the resulting art and entertainment restrictions, the troupe is now picking up the ballet again, overseen remotely by the Argentinian choreographer. The dancers' task is both to brush up on the existing choreography and to practice the new segments that Iñaki Urlezaga has added in the meanwhile.
