Our troupe's performers have arrived in Latvia, where the Golden Festival is back again after a forced hiatus. And even though Yacobson Theatre's first show is scheduled for 16 October, the local press has already done its homework. A popular Latvian information resource has published an extensive interview with Andrian Fadeev, the Theatre's art director and manager. The other media have also made a resounding announcement of the St. Petersburg troupe's arrival, describing it as 'a notable player on the Russian ballet stage and an immensely successful touring company'. Eye-catching headlines like 'The fantastical Don Quixote is coming to Riga' abound. The main Russian television channels have also mentioned our theatre as an important contributor to the Golden Mask programme in Latvia, specifically Riga, where the audience will see the stunning Don Quixote production starring our best principals (Elena Chernova as Kitri, and Andrey Sorokin, winner of several prestigious awards, as Basilio) on 16 October, and Ventspils, where we will give a grand Gala on 18 October, featuring the most memorable excerpts from our best shows, including the legendary Choreographic Miniatures by Leonid Yacobson.
