A Triumph of the Classics

On August 26, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre is to complete a series of performances at the historic venue of the Mariinsky Theatre with The Nutcracker show.

Yet again, theatre-goers from St. Petersburg and beyond get a chance to appreciate the masterful skills of the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre, a company that is both youthful and yet already in high regard among the audiences and critics. The dancers have come to the Mariinsky Theatre with the best shows from their repertoire, from the timeless Swan Lake masterpiece and the recent premiere, Johan Kobborg's Don Quixote. As the final accord of this ballet symphony, the dancers will delight the public with universally beloved fairy-tale, The Nutcracker. Both this performance and the Swan Lake show on August 24 will be marked by the rise of new ballet stars: the young ballerina Galina Grachyova will début in the Swan Duo in Act 3, while Ekaterina Yalynskaya will play the part of Princess Masha in The Nutcracker for the very first time.

We hope that the ballerinas have an astounding first performance!
