After completing its European tour, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will bring its recent premiere, The Queen of Spades, back to St. Petersburg.
The second performance of this season's new ballet, based on the eponymous story by A.S. Pushkin and opera by P.I. Tchaikovsky and choreographed by Iñaki Urlezaga (Argentina), is scheduled for February 29 at the main venue of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The original premiere took place at the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre on December 5 and was a great success, earning a warm response both from the St. Petersburg public and theatre professionals. The February 29 show will also be very special, as the young danseur Tasman Davids will make a début appearance as Narumov.
We are confident that he will give a performance worthy of the legendary stage!
