Grand Tour to Vladivostok

On 26 and 27 November, during its state-backed Grand Tour, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will put on three shows at the Primorsky Venue of the Mariinsky Theatre in the city of Vladivostok. The local theatre-goers will get three opportunities to see Johan Kobborg's Don Quixote, a legendary production with seven Golden Mask nominations.

The troupe's art director Andrian Fadeev comments that the very involvement in such a significant state project, under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Culture, is a great honour and responsibility for the theatre's performers. Especially considering that the Yacobson company already has experience dancing in Vladivostok: we previously contributed to this important educational programme with the famous Leonid Yacobson's Choreographic Masterpieces show, which was quite successful and set a high bar for performance quality. So we will do our utmost not to disappoint our public on the Pacific coast. 'I must also say that, considering the current lockdowns, we welcome any chance to interact with genuine ballet fans in Russia's furthest regions,' Andrian Fadeev continues. 'It will be a great pleasure to perform at Mariinsky's Primorsky venue, which is an important outpost of St. Petersburg's culture in the Far East.'

We are confident that our Don Quixote will resonate with the most demanding Vladivostok public, as it features an all-star cast: the main parts will be performed by Alla Bocharova Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation; Andrey Sorokin, winner of multiple international contests and holder of the Golden Soffit award; international contest winner Sofia Matyushenskaya; Vyacheslav Spilchevsky, winner of multiple Russian and international contests; Svetlana Svinko, winner of multiple Russian and international contests; as well as Stepan Dyomin, Denis Klimuk, and Kirill Vychuzhanin.

Here's to a successful tour and resounding applause!
