The Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will be celebrating the winter holidays by performing Don Quixote at the Alexandrinsky main venue. As a special gift to the audience for Orthodox Christmas, the Yacobson troupe will bring its Don Quixote ballet, staged by Johan Kobborg, to one of St. Petersburg's most high-status venues on January 6 and 7 of the new year 2020 Don Quixote is a unique, colourful production, drenched in the scorching Spanish sun. This bright festive burst will be sure to bolster the holiday spirit among the residents and guests of Russia's cultural capital.
The main roles will be performed by our theatre's principals: Sofia Matyushenskaya, winner of an international diploma, will appear as Kitri on January 6, while Alla Bocharova, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation and Winner of the St. Petersburg City Council Youth Award, will reprise the role on January 7 Whereas the part of Basilio will be played by Andrey Sorokin, winner of multiple international contests and of the St. Petersburg City Council Youth Award. The shows will be part of the popular Ballet Planet festival.
