The dancers from the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre are taking part in a charity concert at the Alexandrinsky Theatre for the second year in a row.
On June 3, the Alexandrinsky Theatre will host its third grand opera and ballet gala, spearheaded by the Blizkiye Drugiye (Kind Strangers) Charity Foundation and the Perspektivy (Prospects) St. Petersburg Community Charitable Organisation. By giving a non-profit performance, the dancers will not only raise money for a severely disabled children's boarding school No. 2 in the Pavlovsk, but also attempt to raise awareness of the challenges these children face, and make their own personal generosity an inspiring example for anyone else who is trying to be compassionate, understanding, and supportive. The Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will contribute to the gala with several musical numbers: The Lovers, set to music by S. Kagan and performed by Darya Belova and Lawrence Lambert; and The Gossips, set to music by Șico Aranov and performed by Natalia Inyushkina, Derya Belova, Angelina Grigoryeva, Svetlana Svinko, and Anna Sergeeva.
