Rodin is a series of choreographic miniatures that has been inspired by Auguste Rodin's art and has literally become the theatre's signature performance. Over the course of many years, Leonid Yacobson created a motley collection of dances, which were later joined together in a single ballet, Rodin.

These miniatures make the great French impressionist's sculptures come to life, exalting true love in a poignant, free-spirited, ardently poetic hymn that speaks of the feeling's every facet, from the very first, tentative inkling of affection to the summer's noon heat of passionate caresses and the scorching touch of ferocious desire.

Rodin made a true breakthrough in the art of sculpture, denouncing the prevailing 'classical' tendency to idealize the subject matter. His creative quest gave rise to a new means of artistic expression through sculpture.

Half a century later, Leonid Yacobson made a breakthrough of his own, this time in choreography, and created a new language of the dance.
